My mother-in-law recently passed in the home she had shared with her 3 dogs for 31 years.  She was not very social with us and got less and less friendly as her dementia took over most of her memory and coherent thoughts. Mike would go every week or so to check on her as she sometimes didn't remember who he was and didn't even want to let him in some days. She recently had a hip replacement and wasn't getting around very well. We found her dead on the kitchen floor three days after our last visit.
